Small heat shock proteins are molecular chaperones with a wide variety of client/substrate proteins. Our group focuses on deciphering the mechanism of the chaperone-substrate interactions of small heat shock proteins and their role in various diseases.

India has rich heritage of ethnomedicinal or traditional medicinal knowledge which is getting extinct at a very fast pace. Our group mainly focuses on exploring and documentation of the ethno/tribal/traditional medicinal knowledge of India and bioprospecting of the ethnomedicinal plants. We are also involved in creating awareness for the conservation of this rich traditional medicinal heritage of India at the grassroot level.
